Hello Readers and Blogging World!
For the longest time, I have felt as if I really lacked a way to share and translate certain thoughts into written, communicative ideas – ones that may possibly be a benefit for those who might choose to read along. As a precursor, I want to promise you that I will not waste your time. This blog will not be used as a personal journal or anything of the sort. On the contrary, I have resolved that it will consist only of ideas which are directly relevant to our lives and the Gospel.
Why the name? The title of this blog, ‘GospelFocus289’ essentially derives its name from the passage of Scripture, Ephesians 2:8-9, which reads, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves,it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.” I would be writing this blog in vain if the focal message was not pointing back to the grace of the Gospel in some way or the other. Therefore, the goal of this blog will strive to reveal, evaluate, and integrate the greatness of the Gospel into every facet of life: experiences, relationships, perceptions, and growth as a child of God. For, in fact, the gospel saves us, but it is through our increased understanding of its grace that we delve deeper into the mystery of God’s perfect love and perfect will.
It is my prayer that those who read this blog may be further drawn to savor the goodness of the Gospel, as I attempt to portray it as glorious as it really is. And as the psalmist rejoices in the beauty of God’s presence….
“You make known to me the path of life;
you will fill me with joy in your presence,
with eternal pleasures at your right hand.”
Psalm 16:11
….so also can we because of the Gospel; so then, may it be our aim, and may it be our greatest pleasure as we strive to further uncover the heart of what these verses truly express.
Because of the Gospel, for the sake of the Gospel.
